Telling a Unique Story Year After Year

  • A mature, modern design focusing on finding the true stories & opinions of our student body. This book took on a more simplistic design focusing on text variations and boxes to establish modular designs & guide the reader.

  • A yearbook with dust jacket and distributed with a sharpie to each customer. This book was all about the individual students and their interests. Once a customer took the dust jacket off, the hardcover was almost completely blank and customers were encouraged to doodle on their own books. Throughout the book, students would find personalization and doodles while the stories focused on how the world has truly changed since the pandemic.

  • The year of COVID. Students started the year at home, then movd to hybrid, then finally came back full time. Sports and extracurriculars were nonexistent at the beginning of the year and we didn’t know where the year would take us. Hence, Dude Guess What?!

  • Knowing our school would be under construction all year, we wanted to show the student experience of waiting over and over as the year shifted. This cover is heat activated where students needed to rub the cover to get the images that were hidden to show. Little did we know that COVID-19 would hit this year and our theme would truly show the year. Many spreads of this book were shared nationally as examples for other schools and was featured in the National Look Book.

  • To walk our students through the beginning of schooh construction, we knew this year would be chaotic and ever changing. This book included spreads that were shared nationally as examples for other schools and was featured in the National Look Book.

  • Our first book to be featured in the National Look Book and to have a different color cover than our school colors in 15+ years. We wanted to start digging into true stories of our students and show that Blackhawks were more than just Blackhawks.
